A huge thank you to you all for making our wedding day so perfect. We couldn’t of wished for a better day, everything was amazing from start to finish. From the minute we arrived on the Monday to the moment we left the following Monday it was all amazing. The hotel was perefct and the staff were fantastic, they couldn’t do enough to help us and our guests.

Luchy, you helped so much with all the organising and was there to reassure throughout everything, thank you so much.

All our guests had an amazing time and commented on how fabulous the hotel was and how helpful and attentive all the staff were, they are definitely a credit to the hotel. Several of our guests have said that they will definitely return and me and John will most definitely be returning for our wedding anniversaries over the next couple of years.

Wedding of Julie & Chris – May ’11

We have just returned from our wedding at the Tamisa Golf Hotel and thanks to them it was truly our dream wedding, which we will talk about for years to come.

We first visited the Tamisa in September, not long after we got engaged and instantly fell in love with the setting and knew immediately this was the perfect venue to host our special day. We met with Joanne the wedding coordinator, and we must say that from the outset Joanne did everything in her power and more to make sure we had the best day of our lives. As we were trying to organise the wedding from Northern Ireland, we were concerned that this would be quite difficult, but to be honest it was quite the opposite and that was largely down to the work that Joanne was doing behind the scenes. Communication was great and we received prompt responses to all our emails – nothing was too much trouble.

So to the wedding day itself…..

Guest started to arrive to the sound of a Classical Spanish Guitarist which Joanne recommended and organised for us. The music he played was wonderful and set the tone for a beautiful Spanish wedding and a fantastic day.

The Ceremony was conducted in the gardens of the hotel with all of the seats laid out in rows with pretty white covers all facing a beautifully dressed Pergola, which again added to the Spanish flavour of the wedding. The ceremony itself was perfect and was conducted by the Reverend Don Spence (again Joanne’s recommendation), who can only be described as a total gentleman who really put his heart into giving us a great ceremony. He spoke so eloquently and all of our guests commented on how lovely the service was. We must also compliment our singer for the day who truly blew our expectations out of the water. His name is Arran Harding and has an absolutely fantastic voice. The first song he sang for us was ‘The Prayer’ by Andrea Bocelli, which as anyone will know is a big song, but Arran performed this with ease and really showed what a powerful voice he has. Arran could not do enough for us on the day and as well as singing two songs for us at the ceremony, he was our master of ceremonies and sang for us again all evening. After the wedding ceremony we were greeted by the Hotel Owner John Peach to congratulate the two of us and present us with a glass of champagne. We thought this was a really nice touch.

We must also give a mention to our florist, Shona from bunches, who was another recommendation from Joanne. The arrangements on the day were beautiful and she was a real pleasure to deal with.

The grounds and views of the Mijas mountain range provided the perfect panoramic backdrop for our wedding photographs. My Brother who was our Wedding photographer could not get over the picturesque nature of the surrounding area.

After the ceremony we had organised drinks and canapés by the pool, which were really tasty and beautifully presented. Everyone commented on how nice these were. After the canapés and photographs came the main meal. We have to say the meal was outstanding from start to finish and the staff’s attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Each course was really well presented and there was not one complaint from any of the guests, so credit must go to the chefs at the Tamisa.

Towards the end of the meal the Sun had begun to set at which point the candles and fire burners by the pool were lit creating a wonderful atmosphere for the party in the evening where all of our guests along with us danced the night away to the entertainment provided by Arran Harding.

To summarise, we would give the Hotel Tamisa 10/10 across the board as a Top Wedding Venue in the South of Spain. Special Thanks again to Joanne and all of the Tamisa staff for giving us our dream wedding. We look forward to paying a visit to the Tamisa in the not too distant future!

I just had my wedding at the Hotel Tamisa Golf in Mijas, Spain in July. It is difficult to find words to describe how perfect it all was. The Tamisa is a beautiful hotel with amazing views, fabulous large spotlessly clean rooms, fantastic food, great bar, great pool and the most friendly, accommodating and hard working staff ever. All the guys at the hotel made my wedding day perfect. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Alot of my guests stayed for over a week and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment. It felt like the hotel was our own for the entire holiday. We just had the best time ever. If anyone is thinking of getting married in Spain you must book your wedding at this hotel. Joanne and Ewelina were great at organising everything for me, I was onto them almost every day for the year leading up to the wedding with questions and queries and they were always so helpful. Antonio the bar man is great fun and of course everyone else is fantastic too. John Peach the owner of the hotel is the friendliest and most hospitable person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The Tamisa is perfect for a wedding, a weekend break, a two week holiday whatever you want you will not be disappointed the guys at the tamisa will sort everything out for you.I had the time of my life and want to thank the staff at the Tamisa for the memories.

Our friends at Tamisa had everything planned perfectly, nothing was left to fate.

John – As my emails sometimes make there way to you also – Your kindness and care with which we were treated has not gone unnoticed and surely made a great day WONDERFUL. Your staff are a credit and whilst our event was – from a business perspective – small-fry, we were treated like VIPs every step of the way. It is your attention to detail and the way you have of making people fell special that I personally want to thank you for. For a day, I wanted to feel like a princess and for a day, that’s exactly how I felt. The fact that I once again feel like an ant has no bearing, for I will always heve the memory.

Wedding of Sandy & Brian – June ’09

When we booked our Wedding in Tamisa is was one of the easiest decisions we had ever made, The hotel was gorgeous. It gives the choice of a replica “home” wedding or an outdoor banquet, both with a Spanish twist.

The staff couldn’t be more helpful, John the owner is very hands on and Joanne the hotel Manager had great organizational skills. Ewelyn ,Luchy, Curro, aswell as the restaurant and bar-staff made us and our guests feel so welcome.

We made one trip over in January to see the hotel and surrounding area and to also meet DJ, photographer etc my first impression was that the hotel did actually look as it does on the website, so no nasty surprises where the picture could have been take 30 years prior to you arriving! It is very welcoming and there is an unexplainable ambiance to the hotel, just sitting in the bar or patios looking at the vast golf course is so relaxing. So needless to say after our initial visit we couldn’t wait to tell our friends and family how good the wedding would be, and then countdown started!

As I didn’t have a wedding planner the staff at the hotel where extremely helpful and organized the wedding car and buses for the church and airport, as my Spanish language is fairly limited to ordering food and drink! Any questions that I had where always answered without delay, and I never felt like a nagging bride!

The Florist was recommended by the hotel and when I met Shona in January there was never any doubt in my mind, she would be doing my flowers. She is so warm and chatty and has a great nack for creating a floral masterpiece from what little vague description she is given! So do heed the recommendations that the hotel give and make an informed decision about who you use.

Our wedding was a semi traditional, laid back affair, and we chose to have the outdoor banquet. The tables and chairs where dressed, and the centre pieces where gorgeous. The columns also had flowers wrapped from head to foot. We could not fault the day, the staff did everything they could to make our day thoroughly enjoyable ,and it was very well co-ordinated. The food was well presented and tasted lovely, special diets where catered for and everyone was comfortably full by the end of the meal.

There was drinking and dancing into the early hours until guests retired in an attempt to “save” themselves for the BBQ the following day.

Our guests still talk about out DJ, who was very familiar with the hotel as he has done previous weddings,his name is Ian Preston. You will find plenty of entertaining uploads from him on Youtube! he had something for everyone, from looking after the speeches and timing, to entertaining the kids with a funny skit to knowing what music to play so that the guests that just wont sit down! A friend of mine said the only complaint she had was that he didn’t play and bad music to give her a chance to sit down! our photographer was Shaun@weddingsbyshaun.com(http://www.weddingsbyshaun.com/)and If you are looking for something a bit different then hes definitely your man. We got some great photos in the hotel aswell as in La Cala after the church.

All of our guests had a lovely stay at Tamisa and would definitely agree that the staff had a big hand in making our day very special. I can definitely see myself and my new Husband returning to celebrate future anniversaries.

We had an amazing day from our first “nervous” moments, the beautiful ceremony, the gorgeous food , our great gifts of doves from the Hotel right throught to your superb staff always only too pleased to help, even adorned with towels to dry the late night swimmers, including the Bride herself!!
